Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

  • Who can contribute to the e27 Contributor Programme?

We welcome startup founders, investors, corporate professionals, industry experts, academics, and anyone passionate about shaping Southeast Asia’s tech and startup ecosystem.

  • Is there any fee involved?

No. Contributing to e27 is completely free.

  • Do I need to complete my e27 author profile before submitting an article?

Yes. A complete author profile is mandatory for all contributors, and articles without it will be rejected. Please make sure your profile includes a profile image, a short bio, your location, and a link to at least one social media account. This helps ensure authenticity and gives readers confidence in your work.

  • Can I submit an article without creating a profile?

No. Creating a profile is mandatory, as it ensures proper attribution and confirms that every article leads back to a real person.

  • Can I submit an article on behalf of someone else?

No. Articles must be submitted from the correct author’s profile. To maintain authenticity, we do not allow profiles to be managed by others.

Writing Guidelines

  • What kind of articles do you accept?

We accept thought leadership pieces that share insights, lessons, or analysis relevant to tech and startups in Southeast Asia. Articles should aim to educate, inspire, or spark debate – not promote products, services, or companies.

  • Can I promote my company, product, or service?

No. The Contributor Programme focuses on opinion-driven thought leadership. Promotional content such as product pitches, press releases, or listicles is not accepted. Company mentions are allowed only if they serve as examples or case studies that support an insight, lesson, or analysis, adding real value to the ecosystem.

  • Is there a way to highlight my company when I contribute?

Yes! For added visibility, you can create a company profile. We’ll tag it with your article so it appears on the top right corner of the page. Take a look at this example, and you can set up your company page easily through this link.

  • How long should my article be?

We recommend 700-1000 words. Articles should not exceed 1500 words.

  • Can I include external links in my article?

Yes. Links to credible data, research, or insights are encouraged. However, backlinks to personal websites, promotional pages, or SEO-driven content are not allowed.

  • Can I add an image to my article?

Yes. You can upload your own image when submitting your article. The recommended dimensions are horizontal 690 x 390 pixels. Please provide proper image credit. If you don’t include an image, our team will add one during editing.

  • Are there any topics or content that cannot be published in the Contributor Programme?

Yes. Content that promotes illegal, harmful, or restricted activities will not be accepted. This includes but is not limited to gambling, pornography, tobacco, and other similar topics. We encourage contributors to focus on insights, experiences, and perspectives that add value to the startup and innovation ecosystem in Southeast Asia.

Submission & Review

  • How do I submit my article?

You can submit your article through our Contributor Programme portal by clicking ‘Start Writing’ here.

  • Can I get feedback before submission?

Yes. Please send a draft to [email protected] for feedback before submitting.

  • Is there an editorial review process?

Yes. Our editorial team reviews all submissions to ensure they meet our guidelines and add value to readers. We also carefully proofread to correct any grammatical or syntax errors.

  • How long does it take for an article to be published?

On average, it takes 12-14 working days for publication, as we receive a high volume of submissions and carefully review each one.

  • How can I track my articles after submission?

You can easily track your submissions through your Content Dashboard here.

  • Will I get feedback if my article is not accepted?

Yes. If your article doesn’t meet our guidelines, we’ll share feedback so you can revise and resubmit.

Republishing & Visibility

  • Can I republish my article elsewhere?

We prefer original content for e27. If you’d like to republish, please wait one week after your article goes live on e27 and credit us as the original publisher.

  • Can I repurpose an article I’ve already written?

Yes, if it was previously published on LinkedIn or your personal blog. We’re happy to consider it and can include a link to the original post. Please note that we do not accept articles already published on other news media platforms.

  • Will my article be shared on social media?

Yes! All articles are shared on our social media channels and in our newsletter. To ensure we can tag you, please link your social media accounts to your e27 profile.
